6 months pregnant, deployed husband and a hole in my roof?

My husband and I bought our first home eight days before his second deployment.  Three days after he left it started raining...inside our new home!   We found out a few weeks later it would cost over seven thousand dollars to fix it.  I had no idea what to do, but I contacted my FRG [Family Readiness Group] and asked her if someone could come put up a patch or tarp, because at six months pregnant I wasn't able to climb up on the roof and take care of it myself.  Instead of having someone come patch my roof, she walked me through every step of the paperwork I needed to complete to apply for financial assistance.  Once I finished the paperwork, we received news we were approved for the repairs to the roof and ceiling in our home.  Thank you Military Department Foundation for fixing this for me! - Shyanne Klupp
